Textile art landscapes using mixed media and hand-embroidery.
My designs are inspired by the beautiful region of East Lothian in Scotland. Each work looks like a painting, giving the viewer a surprise when they look closely and find that it is embroidered.
In my exhibitions, I mount my works at eye-level and often find people standing close-up to the frames to take in the intricacy of the works. Sometimes the same person will wander around the exhibition and then return to my work several times to see that it really is all hand-stitched!
I also like to collect gorgeous fabrics which I use to also make handmade shopping bags and storage baskets. These are for sale at Beech and Birch in Gifford and other East Lothian outlets.
Please read my blog and take a look at my online shop where you can buy products featuring my designs. If you are looking for some lovely gifts, my favourite designs are printed by a local Scottish company onto coasters, cards and notebooks.
I occasionally teach cross-stitch, sewing and embroidery techniques at the Poldrate Arts and Craft Centre in Haddington and other locations in East Lothian.
